Will you allow me to wax philosophical for a second?
A close friend told me how she struggled with weight loss after c-section. Struggled? Really. I had a C-section too and I found that while it was a little more difficult to drop the pounds, I was still able to do it relatively easily.
So I asked, “What kinds of things are you doing to lose the weight?”
Well my friend said, “You know. I’m trying to eat right, but I slip in a candy bar here and there. And I’m trying to exercise but with the baby not sleeping and constantly having to nurse…”
I said, “Hold on a second! Do you really want to lose this weight?”
What she said next was quite revealing and I think says a lot about our culture. She said, “I’d like to lose the weight, but I’m just not motivated.”
To be quite honest, her desire for weight loss after c-section wasn’t strong enough. She didn’t want it. And without that desire, there is just no way that she was going to lose the weight.
Napoleon Hill, author of ‘Think and Grow Rich’, spoke of the need for a burning desire in order obtain riches. But his advice could really be applied to anything we truly desire, including weight loss after c-section.
As you plan for weight loss after c-section, make sure to examine your desire. Make it a burning desire and you’ll succeed.
